Certain people, who unfortunately then exemplified attitude, arrogance, scorn, and all that accompanies a questionable nature. Though we’re now doctors, engineers, artists, historians and authors, and the like, my friends and I (whom I still know) were then considered the eccentrics – and, by extension, the outcasts – of the school. - - On reflection, though, and in fairness, we were all very young, some were very foolish, and clearly we weren’t yet exposed to the benefits of maturity and the human improvements they can bring. -Jeffrey Dane

The embarassment I felt when in gym class at the beginning of a year one of the teachers( I think it was Walker) could not read my name aloud as he was calling out names from the Delaney card due to my poor handwriting. Actually my worst memory associated with high school took place 4 or so years later after graduation and occurred during either 1967 or 1968, at the Fort Hamilton Army Processing Center. It was a "first reunion" of sorts for the males in the class of '63. A sad period of time for all members our class both male and female. To this day, I can still remember the forced sense of uneasiness and the vacant and uncertain looks in many of our classmates eyes as we milled around the processing center looking for answers that either no one knew or was unwilling to give us and wondering what would be our fate in the days to come and what would happen to us next. -Mark Cohan
