-Susan Datz

Certain people, who unfortunately then exemplified attitude, arrogance, scorn, and all that accompanies a questionable nature. Though we’re now doctors, engineers, artists, historians and authors, and the like, my friends and I (whom I still know) were then considered the eccentrics – and, by extension, the outcasts – of the school. - - On reflection, though, and in fairness, we were all very young, some were very foolish, and clearly we weren’t yet exposed to the benefits of maturity and the human improvements they can bring.

-Jeffrey Dane

Saying goodbye to everyone at graduation.
-Richard Baratz

Can't recall one.
-Helen Abramowitz

Oh my G-d. Whatever possessed me to think that I could be a cheerleader?! I was way too tall and could never do a split. I remember practicing and practicing. The tryouts were painful, literally and figuratively. This was my first real rejection in life. I'd like to say that it was character-building, but who would believe that bull ----?
-Bonnie Leiderman

Shifting floors and doors that would not close at high tide.
-Michael J. Gerena

Getting a 95 in Miss Wideberg's English class with a U in citizenship.

Knowing that graduation was the end of some great times and that I now had to face the real world. Oh, and let's not forget the one and only day that I cut class. -thomas piemontesi

Getting caught cutting class in my senior year and being confronted by my math teacher on the way back into the school! Naturally, he threatened me with non-graduation. I DID graduate on time...I guess the school did not want to deal with me for another year! :-)
-Priscilla Bryer

-Lenore  Makler

Those Stratford, CT. trips to see Shakespeare (although the bus rides were kinda fun). Having to read Ethan Frome and the Return of the Native.

The chemistry regent and Mr. Worthman.
-Vicki Hudes

The embarassment I felt when in gym class at the beginning of a year one of the teachers( I think it was Walker) could not read my name aloud as he was calling out names from the Delaney card due to my poor handwriting. He paused and tried and tried until I called out my name. He then proceeded to ask if I was born in China, totally cracking up our sizeable gym class. Stupid little thing that hardly qualifies as a worst memory, but something I do remember.

-Barbara Freedman

Actually my worst memory associated with high school took place 4 or so years later after graduation and occurred during either 1967 or 1968, at the Fort Hamilton Army Processing Center. It was a "first reunion" of sorts for the males in the class of '63. A sad period of time for all members our class both male and female. To this day, I can still remember the forced sense of uneasiness and the vacant and uncertain looks in many of our classmates eyes as we milled around the processing center looking for answers that either no one knew or was unwilling to give us and wondering what would be our fate in the days to come and what would happen to us next.

-ROSALIND FLAX

Getting caught.
-Marc Schneiderman

Well, I wasn't much for school. I didn't enjoy it and went into the working world as soon as I graduated Sheepshead. I loved music...I was an O.K. writer...and when the Beatles hit a year later I was suddenly a valuable commodity...a "kid" who understood that crazy new music and who could write. I wound up as a copywriter for Columbia Records in 1964 and never looked back.

The track team had to practice running/sprinting in the hallways of SBHS for the indoor season. We walked to Madison HS and used their field for practice during the outdoor season. I look back fondly on these "worst" memories, as also my best, because of the great friends I ran with off and on the track.
-Walter Anthony Jr.

Ms. Kay told me I couldn't perform in a trampoline exhibition because I had an argument with a girl who was bullying a friend of mine, and the argument erupted into a scuffle. I was literally crushed!!

- Lorraine Ochs

Everything else
-Myke Shifrel

Graduation!!!
-Michael Herlands

- Jules Kolodny [let's leave it at that]

- a science teacher whose name I've repressed who told me in front of the whole class I didn't know what I was talking about regarding acceleration of an object at its highest point when tossed in the air [and then Jeffrey Needleman and some others told me after class that I was correct and the teacher didn't know what he was talking about]. (With the wisdom [?] of forty years, I realize I should have discussed this with the teacher after class in private.)

If I really sat down and thought about it I could probably come up with a few more, but why tarnish what is still a positive memory?
-Barry Siskind

I was very tall and skinny and got made fun of all the time. My worse night mare was Robert Porter who said the ugliest and meanest things to me. I use to hide when I would see him coming. I have to honestly say he was good reason for me not wanting to go to school.
If I could turn back the hands of time I would go to school with a better attitude and not care what people said about me.
-Marilyn  Carey

Trying out for cheerleaders.
-Roberta Horowitz

REGENTS!!!. Walking a mile to school, and back.
-Michael Posner

My worse memory is a typical response from someone in high school. Unless you are in with the "in crowd", high school is awkward! For me it was just that, we had just moved into the neighborhood and I still kept all my friends from Erasmus.
-Susan Levy

Being in School LOL LOL
